The Lenawee County Continuum of Care (CoC) was created as required by HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) to provide communitywide commitment to ending homelessness. The CoC has many purposes, one in particular is to develop a long-term strategic plan and manage year-round planning efforts that identify and address the needs of at-risk or literally homeless individuals and families. In 2006, the State of Michigan developed and focused on the Campaign to End Homelessness with the vision of ending homelessness within 10 years. The Lenawee County CoC continues to work towards that plan. To end homelessness, the Lenawee CoC provides a yearly Project Connect event in an effort to reach as many people in housing crisis in our community and to provide those in attendance with immedate services and resources.
